Family Bible of Henry and Caroline Berryman Rowe of Pleasant Valley, Jo Daviess County, Illinois

This is a 122 year old Bible that belonged to the family of Henry and Caroline Berryman Rowe of Pleasant Valley, Jo Daviess County, Illinois.

The Bible was published by the American Bible Society of New York in 1882 and is hardback with a leather cover and is about 8 x 10 1/2 inches and 3 inches thick. It is in fairly good condition for its age with binding intact and all pages present.

Henry Rowe was born in 1843 and married Caroline Berryman, a native of Wisconsin, in 1866. They had children named Amelia, Mary, Charles Nelson, Florence, Alice, and Orlena.

Charles Nelson Rowe married Lizzie Ironside and later Matilda Kendall and then Hattie A. Grassfield.

Florence Rowe married Harry S. Blank and later married William Surfus, Amelia married William H. Huntington, Alice married Jay R. Laird.

Orlena married Clark D. Willoughby and settled in Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa where she died in 1989 at the age of 101.
